Occasionally VWK will have older puppies or adult dachshunds that will need to leave our kennel and be placed in good homes.
These dogs often have been treasured members of our group for quite some time. This happens when a doxie is retired from the breeding program, determined to not be a good fit for the showring or is just not happy in our general population as a pack member. We want them to enjoy the best possible existence and so, we look for special homes that will appreciate that they make a better pet than buying
a brand new puppy!
These special placements will be dogs with complete health records and up to date care and grooming. Knowing to go outside to potty, sleep in a crate, be left alone to entertain oneself, and walk on a leash are all accomplishments of these VWK dachshunds.

Cazzy is now available to become a treasured Companion Dachshund!
She is healthy and up to date on all her immunizations,has a
microchip,and is crate trained. She is a small doxie...at about 9 lbs.
Her longhair coat requires a weekly comb out and a good diet to remain
shining and thick.
Cazzy will be spayed before leaving VWK, and is available to go to a
Forever Home as soon as that surgery is completed.
Cazzy has had 3 litters of puppies. Her daughter Juno will remain
here to replace her.
Cazzy is a bit reserved...and will be most comfortable in a home with a
single person or a retired couple. She gets along with other dogs her
size...and I think she would be okay with a cat...but we've never tried it.
Young children would be too much for her...but she would be a lovely
pet for a teenage girl. She loves being snuggled and wants to be in the
room with you...though she demands very little attention to be happy.
Cazzy will be $450.00, which includes her spay surgery costs.

Nestor was born on Nov 17, 2010, so is 1 year of age.
He has been growing up here at VWK...getting some training and maturing.
He is sweet and calm...does well in a group of people or dogs, but will probably enjoy a quieter home than a big family could offer. He will be just right for a single person who wants to do obedience or just take walks. Nestor obeys and learns quickly. He doesn't bark or act up...for a dog his age he is very well mannered. And he is a very handsome bright Red boy!
I won't be using Nestor in the VWK breeding program, as his front feet turn out at too much of a degree to be correct. This doesn't in any way affect his health or ability to move. We can only afford to keep the very best examples of the dachshund breed...and a small flaw makes the difference between a show dog and a companion.
Nestor has been neutered and is ready for his Forever home. He will be offered for $500 which includes vaccinations, including rabies and an Avid microchip.
